I spent a frustrating childhood waiting for the end of WW2.
As soon as it was over, I entered the first post war motorcycle scramble and carried on with every motorcycle activity as it became available – including trials riding, grass track racing, speedway, motorcycle football, ice racing and even the Wall of Death!
I was a first year driver when Stock Car Racing was introduced in 1954 and went on to run my own motorcycle and car crash stunt shows.
These lead to a career in TV and such classic big screen films – such as helping Michael Caine make a clean getaway with the gold bullion in the ‘The Italian Job’ as well as helping James Bond 007 escape his pursuers in ‘Thunderball’ and ‘Diamonds Are Forever’.
I have self-published a book on my childhood experiences called ‘My Wild Youth In Gloucestershire’.
In conjunction with Jacquie De-Creed, the co-founder of Stuntarama, we have written ‘Close To The Edge’ featuring stories from our time working together. Finally I have written my autobiography called ‘Whirling Wheels & Prancing Hooves’.
I am currently available as a guest speaker where I give an illustrated talk recounting my experiences on 1 wheel, 2 wheels, 3 wheels, 4 wheels and even 4 hooves !
